Hamlet
Theater
In the theater as in music, there are great hits, the essentials, those whose chorus or quote have traveled the world. The one who has remained at the top of this ranking for centuries is Hamlet.
"To stage Hamlet today is to stage the history of the Theatre" says Simon Delétang. It will not however be a question of historicizing this Hamlet, but rather of creating something alive, of the present, of movement; that the elegance of movement contrasts with the stagnation of thought and inaction. "Create a framework conducive to the development of the drama and the performers" and the director, with his taste for scenography, masters this perfectly.
Hamlet is a work placed under the sign of death, revenge, vanity and it is in this that it is deeply poetic. Here, the Bussang forest will be the faithful companion of this project where the strength of scenic images will join the power of words.
Hamlet-Machine
Theater
Because the challenge of this epic around the figure of Hamlet is to offer a path to Hamlet-machine.
Hamlet as a prologue… to Hamlet-machine.
Present Hamlet in order to be able to hear and accept the Hamlet-machine enigma.
Hamlet-machine is the contemporary version of Hamlet with a touch of humor and 20th century political madness.
