For its 100% City series, Rimini Protokoll traveled the world, working with local citizens to create immersive theatrical experiences. Now, the German theater group is bringing its cutting-edge concept to North Carolina's Research Triangle.

100% The Triangle will feature 100 non-actor participants chosen according to statistical criteria that reflect the demographics of the region. For four months, Rimini Protokoll will partner with CPA and Carolina Demography to ensure a true cross-section of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill is represented in this ambitious, data-driven production. The result will be a substantive, humane performance that shatters monolithic narratives of what North Carolina – and the South – can be, giving audiences the opportunity to connect to their community on a deeper level.

100% The Triangle is an in situ concept. The sound must accompany the participants as they speak. The sounds of the city are recorded beforehand and form the sound palette of the show, which returns to tell the story of the city, its inhabitants and its history.

In 24 Hours, the participants have to mime what they need to do at the time of day they are told. They are accompanied by sounds recorded in the city.

In Me . Not Me, participants have to answer questions by moving to one part of the stage (Me) or the other (Not Me). A sound accompanies them as they move.
